Be a Supporter for the 2022 Easter Sunrise Service, April 17, 2022
In 1937, 86 years ago this year, a small group of Southern Illinoisans gathered on top of Bald Knob Mountain to host an Easter Sunrise Service with hopes of bringing people together in a spirit of Christian unity. That same group later developed a vision for Bald Knob Cross. And today, the long-standing tradition continues, and that monument stands as a testament to their hard work and sacrifice.
The 86th Annual Easter Sunrise Service at Bald Knob Cross of Peace will be held at 6:30am on Sunday, April 17, 2022.
Over the last 86 years, it’s believed more than 300,000 attendees have attended this regional event. This year, the event will be both live-streamed and in-person with more than 2,000 attendees expected. Food trucks will also be on-site.
Despite the extraordinary costs (over $15,000) for Bald Knob Cross to host this event, an offering will not be taken during the service ensuring it remains a free event for all attendees. To help offset the costs, there are unique supporter opportunities available for churches, organizations, and businesses.
Can we count on you as one of those supporters? The deadline to reply is March 12, 2021.
